From watching her parents pack the bags, watching the planes take off and land from the airport lobby, to actually sit in the plane to looking at the clouds from above the sky, Kaashi experiences everything - wonder, curiosity, joy, apprehension and comfort. This story introduces young readers the concept of a plane and taking a journey on one.

My name is Bhavana D. I’m a children’s book illustrator based in Bangalore, India.I hold a Master’s degree in Visual Communication Design from Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore.
I have been illustrating for over 4 years and professionally illustrating children’s books for over 2 years.I have worked with Scholastic India, Room to Read India, Bookosmia and Indie Press for creating illustrations for Children's Books, Picture Books as well as Children's Educational Content such as poetry cards and reading cards. Apart from illustration for books, I also illustrate book covers. I use Procreate for all my illustration work. I have also been a speaker at the Bangalore Literature Festival 2025 and Bangalore Poetry Festival 2025 as part of their Children's Literature Festival.I'm passionate about illustrating for kids as I have grown up reading and getting inspired from children’s books and picture books myself. I love how they help make learning fun by opening up an immersive world of visual storytelling through their enticing illustrated spreads.I enjoy illustrating stories of all kinds, especially those that involve fantasy, whimsy, people, animals, nature, cultures, diversity, inclusion, food and nuanced everyday moments of joy. My illustrations are rich and vibrant with colours. They exude warmth and joy and spark imagination in readers.
